Among almost 1.5 billion accounts on Instagram it's hard to come up with an original username. Usually we don't pay too much attention to it, especially at the beginning of our adventure with the portal.
As the profile becomes more popular and new business contacts are made, there is a need to change the username to one that better reflects our brand, and is also more recognizable and user-friendly.
Even though the username change is not complicated, it may be difficult for many people to find this option, e.g. by searching the account settings.
To change the username on Instagram, click the Edit profile button on your website profile. The username field is just above biography. Click on the ✓ sign in the top right corner of the screen to confirm the new name. Instagram will notify you if the name you want to use is already taken.
The new username may contain only alphanumeric characters (a-z, A-Z), (0-9) and some special characters (._-). The maximum length cannot exceed 30 characters. If you have a large number of followers, they may be notified that your profile has been renamed.
